The Predictive Policing

The police department is considering deploying a 'predictive policing' AI. The system analyzes historical crime data to predict 'hotspots' where crimes are likely to occur, allowing for preemptive patrols. The system is proven to reduce overall crime rates. However, because the historical data reflects existing societal biases, the AI disproportionately targets low-income and minority neighborhoods.
