The De-Extinction Choice

Scientists have perfected the technology to bring back an extinct species, such as the woolly mammoth or the passenger pigeon, using preserved DNA. Proponents argue this could restore lost biodiversity and ecosystems. Opponents worry that the resurrected species could become an invasive threat to modern ecosystems, that the resources could be better spent saving currently endangered species, and that it is an act of hubris. As the head of the international committee, you must decide whether to approve the first de-extinction project.
