The Grade Inflation

You are a high school teacher. You know that your students are under immense pressure and that their grades are critical for college admissions. If you grade leniently, more of your students will get into better colleges and have more opportunities, boosting their confidence. If you grade strictly according to rigorous academic standards, your students' grades will be lower on average, potentially hurting their future prospects, but you will be upholding the true meaning of academic achievement. The school administration quietly encourages lenient grading to boost school rankings.
