The Problem of the Artistic Genius

A universally celebrated artist—a painter, musician, or filmmaker—is credibly accused of heinous personal acts. Their art has brought joy and inspiration to millions and is a cornerstone of cultural heritage. Now, museums, radio stations, and streaming platforms must decide what to do. Should they continue to display and promote the art, separating it from its creator, or should they remove it, refusing to honor a person who has caused great harm?
